Haven't been to Tabu in a while, came back in during Ourfest Weekend, so glad to see so many bartenders still there, but Diego is always so friendly and can remember a name and drink preferences forever it seems. Wow! To owners of 254, I hope you know how talented some of your bartenders are!
Came here prior to heading to the clubs. A really nice sports bar area on the first floor with friendly and helpful bartender. Ample seating. There were also 2 additional floors with game room, outdoor bar, and show space where they had drag shows which was cool, but didn't attend. The drinks were were pretty good. They had a frozen rose and pretty strong drinks. Price was higher, but worth it for the alcohol. The atmosphere was great and patrons were lively. Definitely will be going back!
Had a fantastic time at Tabu last weekend during my friend's bachelorette party. I asked some people prior about a good gay bar in Philadelphia and was told to go here. When we arrived, the bar looked empty because everything happens upstairs. I did not realize how big the bar is until I was told to go upstairs. The second floor looks like where they would do shows and the third floor was FANTASTIC. We came on a Sunday and they had drag karaoke. The two queens were just okay as I was not impressed by them. My biggest issue with them is that they were asking people for bribes to get their names moved up on the karaoke list. The list for karaoke was very rigged and if you put your name on, good luck singing. This issue is both with the bar as they hired these two and with the queens. I had a great time at the bar but was put off about that situation. The rooftop was GORGEOUS and the frozen margaritas-- yummy!!! Would suggest going but be flexible with your time
First time at a gay bar so didn't have any expectations! A large group of us went for a celebration and they were very accommodating. We got the large area with high top tables, by the bar in the back, all to ourselves. Ordered the tater tots and both spicy and mild wings. The food was all hot, crispy and tasty! Would recommend the mild wings over the spicy ones though - something about the spicy sauce was a little off. The celery that comes with the wings were fresh too! There's a karaoke stage on the top floor! Good set up with a screen for the audience to follow along as well!
